Patronage
Examples of good deeds have long gone beyond the factory. Today, among the beneficiaries of the company are: 25 sports teams (from national teams to public associations), social, cultural, and medical institutions and facilities, as well as individuals facing difficult life circumstances. Since 2005, JSC “Grodno Tobacco Factory ‘Neman’” has provided financial assistance totaling $40 million.
MEDICINE
In 2020 and for the first quarter of 2021, sponsorship assistance was provided for the purchase of medical equipment and medical devices, special passenger cars (19 units) for hospitals, clinics, nursing homes for the elderly and disabled in the city of Grodno, as well as assistance to orphanages and veteran organizations, totaling $0.5 million
In April 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, through the personal initiative of Yu.S. Chernyshev, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People’s Republic of China, the procurement of equipment for the production of protective three-layer masks from China and its commissioning was ensured in the shortest possible time. Additionally, the factory organized the production of protective face shields using a 3D printer.
In order to support healthcare organizations and other social institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, significant financial and material assistance has been provided and continues to be provided. The company produced and donated free of charge to hospitals a temporary stay container intended for coronavirus testing, as well as a disinfection unit.
SPORT
The public association “Belarusian Basketball Federation,” of which the General Director, Yuri Stepanovich Chernyshev, is a member of the Supervisory Board, does not hide the fact that national basketball exists thanks to the patronage of the tobacco factory. This includes 18 teams, which not only have the opportunity to train and participate in competitions but also are part of the global sports community.
The hockey club “Neman” was founded in 1991, right after the first artificial ice rink was installed at the Ice Palace of the “Krasnoye Znamya” stadium in Grodno.
In 1997, the team became the winner of the Republic of Belarus championship. After observing the talented performance of the champions, JSC “Grodno Tobacco Factory ‘Neman’” decided to support the team and became the main sponsor of HC “Neman.” Since then, the team has won the top league cup three times and has also become the holder of the IHF Continental Cup, strengthening the prestige of the Grodno Tobacco Factory.
Belarusian biathlon can justifiably share its victories on the world stage with the Belarusian tobacco brand. The sponsorship funds are used for the purchase of sports equipment, training camps, participation in international tournaments, and supporting the athletes themselves. The team sports supported by the brand are chosen not by chance, as in sports, as in business, one is never a warrior alone. The competitive spirit inspired the company’s management to create a unique project that combined two elements: sport and hunting.

The “Neman” Tobacco Factory not only follows traditions of quality and innovation in production but also actively supports the cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus. We are convinced that the preservation and development of culture is an important part of the business’s social responsibility.
For many years, the factory has contributed to the development of art, folk traditions, and modern creative projects. Thanks to our support, exhibitions, theatrical performances, music festivals, and the restoration of historical monuments are held. We collaborate with museums, theaters, and creative groups, helping to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Belarus.
For many years, the factory has supported the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus, contributing to the protection of the borders of our Motherland.
In 2022, the management of the factory was awarded an official letter of gratitude from the Chairman of the State Border Committee for fruitful cooperation and significant personal contribution to the implementation of the state border policy. This recognition is a testament to our social responsibility and commitment to national interests.
The Grodno Tobacco Factory “Neman” traditionally supports significant cultural events in Belarus. In 2021, we became a partner of the XXIX International Festival “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk,” contributing to the preservation of cultural dialogue and the development of the arts.
