In the assembly hall of the Open Joint Stock Company “Grodno Tobacco Factory “Neman”, employees gathered for a collective viewing of the inauguration ceremony of the President of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Palace of Independence, with over 1,100 invited guests in attendance. The event was opened by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Igor Vasilyevich Karpenko, who announced that, by the will of the Belarusian people and through free and democratic elections, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko was elected President of the country.
Placing his right hand on the Constitution, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko took the oath of office in the Belarusian language:
“Assuming the office of President of the Republic of Belarus, I solemnly swear to faithfully serve the people of the Republic of Belarus, to respect and protect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to uphold and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, and to conscientiously and honorably fulfill the high duties entrusted to me.”
The National Anthem of Belarus was then performed, after which the President signed the act of taking the Oath. The Chairman of the Central Election Commission presented Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko with the official certificate of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
